Litang County Tibetan: à ½£à ½²à ¼â¹Ã ½Âà ½âà ¼â¹Ã ½¢à ¾«à ½¼à ½â, Tibetan Pinyin: Litang Zong, Willy: li thang rdzong is a county under the jurisdiction of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, China. It is located in the southwestern part of Ganzi Prefecture. The old name is Lihua County and belongs to Xikang Province. , In the west of Yajiang County, 280 miles, a population of about 47,500 2001, an altitude of 4,014 meters. There is a large Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the desert, which is the main route between Sichuan and Tibet. The land is flat, densely populated, and commerce is prosperous.Many Tibetan celebrities were born in Litang, including Gesang Gyatso, Chuchen Gyatso, Zhebzundamba from Outer Mongolia, and the fifth living Buddha of the Labrang Monastery.The main temples include Changqingqing Keer Temple and so on. Litang appears as a place name in the love poems of the sixth Dalai Lama Cangyang Gyatso.
